Many people run into various practical electrical challenges from time to time. How about you?

The question is: “What are their solutions?”

Sometimes to simply live with an unsafe condition, or to jerryrig a temporary solution.

Other times it is necessary to call out an electrician, which can, of course, be quite expensive. And, time consuming and difficult to schedule. Sound familiar?

So what else can one do?

There is an article on this very subject you can read explains one good alternative to either of these “solutions”. You can read this article at Practical Electrical Challenges and Solutions.

This article discusses several such “challenges”, but much more importantly it points to a solution. A solution you may find quite interesting and valuable.

One of the things this article emphasizes is the problems of electrical safety. In fact it points to another article which has the potential to Save Your Life or to save the life of one of your loved ones.

The essence of the solution proposed and discussed in this article is to economically educate yourself about Practical Electricity.

It turns out this is relatively easy and inexpensive to do today. This is thanks to a pretty incredible self study program one can obtain for less than the cost of one visit from an electrician. If you are interested in electricity in any way you should find this article interesting and valuable.

It also turns out that when you read this article you will also have an opportunity to join the Electricity Friends Club, which is free and will provide you with an ongoing bunch of interesting educations stuff. And, did I say, it’s free? Yes, of course.

If you are interested at all in electricity you owe it to yourself to Visit the Website this article appears on and join the Electricity Friends Club.

While I see the off beat humor in a video like this, I actually got electrocuted once. It isn’t pleasant. I was working on a house in a DIY mode where the wiring to one light switch was actually on two different circuits. So the old stand by of turning the light one (while it did not come on), did not mean the circuit was pumping juice still.

I wish I had taken the Practical Electricity Course for Non-Electricians before that job. In fact, I got a double wammy when I was knocked of the ladder. Maybe I should be most thankful (after being alive) that there isn’t a youtube video of it

If you have ever wanted to upgrade a light switch to a dimmer switch, or install a ceiling fan or add an outlet, what did you do?

If you like me (a few years ago), you thumb threw the yellow pages and picked an electrician at random to call. They came out, charged what I though was an unreasonable amount and made the change.

That’s if I even wanted to go to the hassle of doing this. For a simple dimmer switch, I probably just forgot about it. I would only install it if my wife asked enough times. Then I would cross my fingers and hope I got it right. And didn’t electrocute myself in the process.

Sounds simple enough to change a light switch right. Or a ceiling fan? We’ll, it’s not. I turned of the circuit break to a light once and though I was safe when the light wouldn’t come on. Turns out the previous owner used two different circuit breaks for a single light/fan combo.

That was a shock! Literally. The jolt knocked my from the ladder and I am really lucky I didn’t suffer any other harm.

That incident started me on my quest for knowledge. I didn’t want to get shocked or worse again.

How did I learn? The hard way. I wish I had a resource I could have turned to. We’ll, in today’s world of information overload, I found a resource that I would recommend in a heart beat. Take a gander at this program, it will save you money and could save your life.
