Well, for starters, just understanding the basic functioning of fuses, circuit breakers, and other safety devices can help you keep things running, and that certainly can be worth time and money in many ways.

What about keeping your refrigerator or freezer running?  What could that be worth?

It is easy to overload a circuit and trip a breaker.  Do you know which appliances are on which circuit breakers?  Do you know how to find out?

If you want to educate yourself about house electricity do you know some of the things you need to learn about?

Here is an incomplete list everyone should know about:

Fuses, Switches, Plugs, Receptacles, Loads, Ground, Circuit Breakers, Ground Fault Detectors, Wire Sizes, Lights, Fans, Appliances and their Voltages and Current requirements, and more.

So how could you learn about these things?

Obviously you can search on the Internet and find Youtube videos, or Wikipedia  entries, or other free sources.  But, this can be time consuming.  And, you want to be sure you are getting correct information.
